1:1 Therapy Informed by Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

Are you struggling with overwhelming emotions, impulsive decisions, or difficulties in your relationships? Some people who would find this support helpful have grown up in environments where they didn't get the opportunity to learn about emotions or develop strategies to cope with them, often they may even have felt criticised or felt as though their emotions were never accepted.  If that's the case for you then Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) may be helpful. This approach can help you create a new more positive relationship with your emotions, by learning to identify what it is you're experiencing and what might help you cope with these experiences.

DBT is an evidence-based therapy that combines elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance techniques. It is designed to provide you with the tools and strategies needed to navigate challenging emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and improve your communication with yourself and others. DBT is usually delivered in both a group and individual format, and depending on your level of need this may be a more suitable format to seek DBT in. However, in my experience individuals find a lot of benefit engaging with 1:1 support using this approach.
